PROPOSAL FOR THE AMENDMENT OF PART 139 OF THE CIVIL AVIATION REGULATIONS, 2011

The current SACAA regulations require the licensing of aerodromes which handle aircraft weighing above 5700kg. This proposed regulation is intended to cover the licensing of aerodromes which handle aircraft weighing 5700kg and below but above 450kg in line with international practice.

In addition, this proposal also covers the compulsory registration of all aerodromes.

It is intended that all existing aerodromes that will fall under this category shall be licenced in accordance with this part within one year of date of promulgation.
